Volunteer Sign Ups

America’s Most Patriotic Small Town runs on volunteer power for our Independence Day Celebrations! Sign up now to help make it another great year by contributing a few hours of your time. All volunteers should be 15 or older.

Please read these descriptions carefully before signing up using the form below.

Volunteers Needed BEFORE July 4th.

  • House Decorating Judge - July 1st, 2nd and 3rd. You will drive, walk or bike your way around town, visiting each of the entries in the House Decorating contest. You will score each entry and submit your scores to the ACC for tallying. Make your own schedule. You can visit the entries any time between 8am and 10pm on the 3 days we are judging. Six required.

Volunteers Needed ON July 4th.

  • Parade Banner Carriers - July 4th, 7:45am to 10am. We have six foot banners for our sponsors and we need two people per banner to walk with them in the parade. You will be positioned in front of one of the bands. The parade route is approximately 2 miles and takes about an hour to walk, depending on the pace of everyone in front of you! Six required.

  • Parade Street Captains - July 4th, 7:45am to 8:30 am. You will be responsible for getting one section of the parade lined up in the correct order on one of the side streets off of Amherst Road in the morning. You need to be comfortable giving directions to others. May require occasional loud voices. Six required.

  • Parade Coordinators - July 4th, 7:45am to 10:30am. You will be positioned along the parade route to act as assistance to anyone in the parade who requires it, to help keep the parade moving, and to help direct participants. Six required.

  • Parade Judge (Main Categories) - July 4th, 8:15am to 10:30am. You will be positioned at the judges stand at the end of the parade. You will be responsible for choosing (along with your fellow judges) Best Overall, Fanciest, Best Theme, etc. Three required.

  • Parade Judge (Spirit) - July 4th, 8:15am to 10:30am. You will be positioned on the parade route. You will be responsible for choosing (along with your fellow judge) the most Spirited parade participants. Two required.

  • Parade Judge (Babies) - July 4th, 7:45am to 10:30am. You will meet with the babies at the start of the parade and walk the entire route with them. You will be responsible for choosing (along with your fellow judges) First, Second and Third place winners. Two required.

  • Parade Judge (Bikes) - July 4th, 7:45am to 10:30am. You will meet with the bicyclists at the start of the parade and walk (or ride) the entire route with them. You will be responsible for choosing (along with your fellow judges) First, Second and Third place winners. Two required.

  • Athletics Event Coordinators - July 4th, 10:00am to 1:00pm. You will be setting up our fun family athletics event at the High School, judging the entries and handing out medals. Four required.

Volunteers Needed ON July 6th.

  • Fireworks Event Coordinators - July 6th, 5pm-9pm (shifts available). You will be setting up our event, greeting and assisting visitors, and more! Four required.
